I have always admired and celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit.

My greatest satisfaction is having clients know how their business is doing through timely reports so together we can take advantage of tax planning opportunities and eliminate surprises. We encourage our clients to call and bounce ideas off us, and it is gratifying that they have confidence in our counsel.

My greatest pleasure is receiving emails with pictures of clients getting engaged, seeing wedding and family photos, and having clients share their personal and professional milestones. Births, retirements, deaths, moves and expansions all can have tax ramifications and opportunities, and we’re honored to help our clients navigate through the unknown territories that our business and personal lives can throw at us.

MJ has lived in 4 different countries: Texas (yes, it considers itself a country), England, Australia and Africa and eventually found her forever home in California in 1980.

MJ married in 1984 to Steve, a Long Beach native, and together they have a son and daughter who each have families of their own. Their son is a JAG officer with the Air Force. He and his wife have 2 daughters and live wherever they are stationed. Their daughter and her husband have 2 sons and 1 daughter and live in Idaho. MJ and Steve absolutely love being Yaya & Bopbop!

MJ enjoys being the neighborhood grandma (baking, picking vegetables, sharing them with neighbors, reading, playing games), and also enjoys a good book, baking, going to the theater, watching sports, and feeding people.
